This ink painting is an original work by an oriental artist (consult further information about the artist of this painting). This painting shows the flowering of the Chinese plum, ocurring on some robust branches of the plant, with flowers of vermilion colour. There are diffused branches behind the principal trunk which creates the effect of multiple layers. In the orient, the Chinese plum represents "the winter nobleman" because unlike most trees, it flowers very energetically in deep winter. For oriental artists, the Chinese plum symbolises the concept of ignoring unnecessary and fussy formalities, and the search for alternatives to mundane rules and habits. For which reason, the Chinese plum has been a favourite theme of Chinese painters, writers, and poets, who have adored and praised the virtues of this tree such as intrepidness and temerity. In oriental culture, paintings of the Chinese plum attract happiness, good luck, longevity, abundance and harmony. This painting is prepared with a special protective layer. The painting is framed professionally with quality materials, and is delivered perfectly packaged and protected.
